Update on Aaron

First off, I cannot express my gratitute enough to everyone for their love and support. I am at a complete loss for words when it comes to the wonderful people in Aaron's life, as well as mine. So thank you to everyone who has been praying for him.

For those of you who do not know the whole story, Aaron was on a patrol and was caught off guard by some taliban. He was only shot once(the reason why I say "only" is because we originally thought it was twice). The bullet grazed the underside of his arm and entered in his body through his left armpit. The bullet went in and out of his left lung and stopped just before hitting his heart. His left lung actually collapsed. He said that they x-ray was trippy to look at because the bullet is quite literally sitting in the middle of this chest right in between his heart and 2 major areteries. When he was hit, he just kept running. He never blacked out. He is EXTREMELY lucky to be alive. To me, it is obvious that God has a much bigger plan for Aaron. He kept him around for something. We wont know until we get there, but I believe Aaron has been called to serve his country, and he will continue to do that. He has been called to be a great son, great husband, and eventually, a great father. He is my hero, as I am sure he is yours.

I spoke to Aaron this morning. He sounded a 1000 times better than he did yesterday. I told him about all the poeple that are praying for him and he was speechless. But he means thank you ;) Anyways, they gave him morphine and an epidural for pain (he said, "now I know what that's like when we have kids 'cause I KNOW you're gonna need one!"). His lung has been expanding all day. Great news! He is having some clean up surgery sunday morning, and then will fly out sunday night to Germany. He will NOT go back to combat, and when he is released from the hospital, he will probably go on special leave so that he can come back home (Indy) for a bit.

Things are looking up and I don't think it will take very long for him to recover fully. For those of you who know Aaron, we all know he's a tough guy. He's a trooper, and I know he can get through this. And we all know he will get through it with a little humor like he does everything. I just hope that he doesn't want to hang the x-ray anywhere in our house! ;)

Thank you for reading, and if anyone has ANY questions at all, please don't hesitate to ask.

In-n-out

Ok so Aaron and I are having a second wedding in June, and we're having the reception at my parents house. So I have been trying to figure out a good catering place. So I'm thinkin Macaroni Grill or BJ's Pizza...ya know, places like that. BUT then......I thought of the In-n-Out Burger Truck!!! How freakin awesome would that be?! And it's SO an Aaron and Lauren thing. People would be talking about it for years. I know we would be! Well anyways, just an idea. One of many.

Now I want a cheesburger with onions, fries (crispy), and a chocolate shake to dip the fries in. mmmmmm. I could guess what Aaron would want at the moment....A double double with onions, no tomato, fries with a ton on salt and a dr. pepper (not necessarily becuase he likes dr. pepper, but because he knows that I will most likely drink half of his soda so he likes to get things I will drink...haha).

The Badasses of 1/5....

This is my husband.
This was taken on his last deployment in Kuwait.
There he is with his machine gun on his shoulders and his rifle on his hip.
This picture needs no further explanation other than this...
A picture says a 1000 words.
Do you see the parallel?

I'm so proud of 1/5. When they went through their month long training up in Mojave Viper, the guys who were running the training said they were one of the best Units to ever go through there. They have had the best training and they have the best men among them. I have complete faith that they will follow out and finish their task and return home in early December.

So here is an article for everyone to read if you are in any way confused about what my husband and his friends are doing there.

Watchmen. Good or super confusing and stupid?

I'm leaning towards the second one. First of all, it was WAY too graphic. It was almost as gross as the SAW movies. ew. Second of all, it was a little confusing with all the flashbacks. I didn't understand the end when the newspaper guy wanted to publish Roarshacks diary, and the first entry was "Tonight a comedian died", but it was dated after the movies time period?? Right? OH and it was way TOO long. But I will say that Dr. Manhattan was just about the hottest glowing blue guy I have ever seen.
If anyone can give me some clarity on the movie, that would be nice.

My Cat....

...is crazy! Last night I was watching a movie(Watchmen, which I will discuss later) while cleaning the apartment and I got up to check on Tiger. I hadn't heard him in a while. And you know what they say about kids and animals! "You're being too quite, what did you do?!"

Anyways, I had left the windows in our bedroom open because Tiger loves a fresh breeze on his face. So I walk into our bedroom and look over at the window, and he had punched the screen out and jumped out the window! I immediately freaked out and ran outside and was frantically searching for him. I didn't see him anywhere, so I ran upstairs to Ashley's apartment, and she helped me look. We couldn't find him anywhere, but, like always, we got to talking and sure enough, I heard the little jingle of Tigers bell and tags. Yay! I have never been so happy to hear that noise! I called for him and he started walking towards the window he had jumped out of it, WHICH I had closed and locked. As soon as I went back inside and opened it back up, he jumped right in. Phew! He gave me a good scare, but I am never letting him out again! The apartment is already empty enough without Aaron jumping around, but I can't imigine how empty it would be without my Tiger meowing every 5 seconds.

Crisis averted.

I want to ride my bicycle. I want to ride my bike

I got a bike! It's a super cute beach cruiser bike, and I absolutely love it! Now Ashley and I have our bikes and we went on a couple bike rides this weekend. We had a lot of fun. This weekend, we plan on going on a longer bike ride. We're gonna ride from the SC train station all the way to the harbor. It'll be fun. Hopefully it will be a prettier day than it was in this picture.

Thanks for readin.

My first post!

I'm sittin' here on the couch watching The Daily 10 on E! I probably shouldn't buy in to this stuff, but I'm addicted! Anyways, as you all know, my husband is in Aghanistan :( I miss him more than anything, BUT he is doing a wonderful and historic thing for our country and I am so proud of him. He is everything to me and I can't wait until he gets home. It has been a whole two months since he has been gone, and we have 5 months left. Hopefully he will be home right before Christmas. That would be the best Christmas a girl could ask for.

So this is my first post....as my super awesome and orignal title suggests...and I will be updating it as often as I can. Thanks for listening!
